
MALLAMMA S YALAWAR
Mallamma Yalawar is from a small village and came to Vijayapura for her education.she was cooking her brothers and completed her education. She did B.com and DIRP. Diploma in Industrial and Personnel Management. She joined an NGO and started her own organisation called Sabala after sometime. Sabala aims to bring socio economic , political and educational empowerment of down trodden women. She initiated the following activities with the help of well-wishers, donors and community. She build training and common service centre on her own land and donated to President of India in 2000.
- Mallamma Yalawar started Chaitanya Mahila Co-operative Bank Ltd, for women when women were not getting loan because no asset and regular income in their name. now 14000 women members and 11 branches with a 2.50 cr working capital. The bank is providing dividend yearly.
- Sabala Handicrafts, a setup for manufacturing artisanal products and marketing produce domestically and internationally. Exporting handicrafts to USA, Germany, Sweden and Australia. Supported more than 600 women.
- Worked in Almatti submerged village, did entrepreneurship programme for 4900 families with the support of World Bank through Govt. of Karnataka.
- 87200 women were given digital literacy from 440 villages of Vijayapura District. Supported by Google.
- 1200 School drop outs were readmitted to school with the help of world food Programme.
- As a sustainable model for Sabala organisation Started Sabala Heritage Home and resorts (Farm stay) in Vijayapura along with Sabala handicraft Showroom and local food for tourist . Ranked 4.3 star in Google
